Poem I wrote

So the other night I posted this rant about people telling me not to follow my dreams and things of that nature. Right after that I wrote this poem, which I then sent to one of my other friends going through some of the same shit I was.

Anyways, I thought I would share the poem here.

WHY 2/24/2009

Why do I deal
with the shit that I do
I believe I'm working towards
making my dreams come true
Every time I build momentum
somebody brings me down

This time they attacked
what it is that I love
They attacked my true passion
My art and my soul
Expect me to work for free
Relinquish my control

All the time I sit and smile
While inside I'm a mess
So I double my work load
And triple all my stress
I'm Searching for approval
But why is it from you

I hate the way you make me feel
Why should I even care
You stripped my of my confidence
Now I stand here bare
All I ask is Why oh Why
Why do I even care

You Say You Care!

I just had a shitty ass day as most of us do from time to time. I worked nearly 12 hours at my regular job to meet a deadline and then rushed home to record somebody.

After that, I opened my emails only to find multiple people both friends and family, telling me or implying to me that I should give up on my dream. As if to say, "well you gave it a pretty good shot, you stuck with it longer than I thought!"

What the fuck is that? You who are completely miserable in your own existence because you didn't have the will or the heart to follow what you truly believed in. I guess now this blog has become completely personal, but you know what, I don't care. I am willing to share my experiences with who ever is willing to read them.

Something clicked tonight, I've always kind of felt it, but tonight it became a desire. I am going to make it or succeed at what ever it is I choose, NOBODY will let me feel different about it anymore. I've let people bring me down for far to long and it's time I start believing in my talents and recognize that I can do what ever I want and it's really only my mind that will limit how far I can go.

I hope my words strike a chord in somebody else and gives them the hope that they can do what ever it is they desire as long as they believe in themselves and what they do. I can't guarantee you'll make millions of dollars if you chase your dream but I can guarantee you your soul will feel good about following what you believe in.

I have more debt, credit cards and financial worries than I can count, but honestly these last couple years have been the best and most rewarding in my life. I've played the House of Blues on Sunset Strip to a packed house and they were dancing to our music, I've produced tracks for various artist I never thought I would meet and I've had people tell me that they can see I love what I do when I perform or DJ.

So to all of those who question what I do or why I do it.... FUCK YOU!!!!! Worry about your own damn life.

Dout Gotcha Studio Session

Here is some footage of the latest artist I have worked with. His name is Dout Gotcha out of Virginia.

Dout has been touring with The Clipse for the last seven years and has now decided to step from behind the turntables and into the spot light.

Thanks for the support!

I'm not sure where this image is from or if it is even real but someone passed it on to me being that I'm a rapper and all. I love the random things people send, it's amazing some of the gems people find on the internet!

Gotta love it.

Professional Athletes and Music

I believe the Chicago Bears started this whole trend of professional athletes thinking they can rap and sing. Check out this classic video of the Super Bowl Shuffle.

This is hilarious! I just found this on Youtube, it's the Showtime Lakers rapping/singing about saying NO to drugs. I have to say we need more role models like this today, where have our Star Athletes Morales gone?
